During the summer, what with vacations and campaigning, The McLeod Report will be published weekly, usually on Monday morning. Unless, of course, something really smart or stupid occurs that we just can’t ignore.
THIS WEEK’S BLOG City council is getting very excited about transparency and accountability, especially for other people. It’s record of engaging the public by making the process of governance open, understandable and accessible is, well, not so exciting.
BLOG 0/23/10: If the special citizen panel now studying council salaries really believes they deserve more, perhaps the raise should be paid out as a bonus instead of salary in those cases of intelligent decision making rather than self-serving grandstanding.
BLOG 8/16/10 On Aug. 1 London Hydro imposed an astonishing 17 per cent rate increase on its customers – customers who also are the 100 per cent owners of this utility. City council’s response was to say, there’s nothing we can do. What a lame excuse for elected officials.
BLOG 8/09/10 A driving vacation through the Maritimes and down to Boston provides a learning experience and new ideas that London could productively adopt.
